Areas of StudyThe Natural Resources Science and Management program name reflects the breadth of research conducted by faculty and graduate students in our program. The areas of study are delineated into eight tracks. Students may choose one of the tracks below. Forests: Biology, Ecology, Conservation, and ManagementSpecialized study in forest biology, ecology, conservation and management issues, research focuses on forest and related ecosystems. Recreation Resources, Tourism, and Environmental EducationFocuses on the use and management of natural resources for recreation and tourism. Economics, Policy, Management, and SocietyFocuses on how society values and makes decisions about the use, management, and protection of natural and environmental resources. Forest Hydrology and Watershed ManagementBrings together the integrally-related areas of earth sciences, soils, and water resources management with an applied focus on wildlife ecosystems. Assessment, Monitoring, and Geospatial AnalysisAddresses measurements and related technology applications and resource analysis. Wildlife Ecology and ManagementSpecialized study in areas of fisheries, wildlife and conservation biology. Paper Science and EngineeringSpecialized study in paper and fiber products. Forest ProductsSpecialized study in wood and forest products in industry. |
