Graduate Studies in Natural Resources Science and Management

Handbook: Welcome

Welcome to the Natural Resources Science and Management graduate program. This handbook provides information for all graduate students in the Natural Resources Science and Management (NRSM) graduate program. It is intended to help guide students through their graduate program.

The NRSM graduate program operates within the general policies and practices of the Graduate School. Details about the general regulations and organization of the Graduate School are outlined in the Graduate School Catalog.

NRSM Administration

The general policies of the graduate program are established by the NRSM Graduate Faculty, and are administered by the NRSM Graduate Study Committee and the Director of Graduate Studies (DGS). The DGS chairs the Natural Resources Science and Management Graduate Study Committee and is the facilitator for a range of program activities and signatory for most program documents. Membership in the Natural Resources Science and Management Graduate Study Committee is as follows:

  • Six representatives from the Department of Forest Resources
  • Three representatives from the Department of Bioproducts and Biosystems Engineering
  • One representative from the Department of Fisheries, Wildlife, and Conservation Biology
  • The Head of the Department of Forest Resources
  • The Head of the Department of Bioproducts and Biosystems Engineering
  • The Head of the Department of Fisheries, Wildlife, and Conservation Biology
  • The Director of Graduate Studies
  • Three graduate students, each serving a one-year term. Student members of the committee may participate in policy discussions, but not issues relating to student applications, programs, or faculty appointments.

Records

Confidential student records are maintained in the Graduate Studies office in 105 Green Hall. Paper copies of forms are available in that office, as well as online.
